A Conversation with Ava

Ava is standing in my room all sad looking. I ask, "What's wrong?"
Ava: I sad, want binky.
Me: Well, go find it.
Ava: You find it
Me: You find it, oh wait, here it is.
Ava: Oh good!
She sticks it in her mouth, takes it back out and says "wash it" with a funny look on her face. Gotta love the almost two year old attitude!

More Allie Pix that I Scrapped!

I Love My Mom!

Allison Hays took this picture of my mom and the kids and I just LOVE it! I am so thrilled that one came out so well because little Miss Diva (Ava) wasn't really feeling the photo shoot when we were trying for this one.

St. Patrick's Day Fun!

We had fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Turns out that my kids do have some irish in them, on their father's side. They wore their matching shirts to school and celebrated there. Then we came home and found the candy that the naughty leprechaun was trying to hide from us! We also made green jello with strawberries for dessert. It was a little watery still, but the kids loved it! Spent a bit of time at the vet with Zave as well. He is doing good today but was having some "issues" that he couldn't contain making the house a pretty good mess.

All About Me!

This has been a crazy week. I went to urgent care on Wednesday after work and was there for 4 hours. I was/am having heart palpitations and shortness of breath. I thought maybe I had pneumonia. I also had been questioning my thyroid because I am having hypothyroid symptoms. Neither my old doctor nor my new doctor thought it was a concern because my last test was "normal". I am so glad that I met the doctor at urgent care because she actually listened to me instead of trying to increase my paxil dosage! She gave me a breathing treatment that helped with the breathing then they hooked my up to the heart monitor. Wouldn't you know the monitor didn't catch it because it didn't happen once when I was hooked to it. Instead it happened while I was waiting for my chest x-ray. The chest x-ray showed that I was asthmatic. It had never been confirmed before, but now we know. It's all allergy related and my allergies have been horrid the last few months. When I mentioned a history of thyroid issues to the dr she recommended an ultrasound stat. I went for the u/s on Thursday afternoon and she called me at 10:15 at night to say that I have a nodule on my thyroid. A nodule usually leads to an underactive thyroid and would explain the majority of my symptoms. So, the shortness of breath and palpitations just happened to coincide and weren't related. Weird, but good. I am strangely relieved to have an idea of what is going on with me. I hate not being myself. Now at least their is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Growing Up Way to Fast!

Ava got a taste of driving when Daddy let her sit in his lap. Now that's all she wants to do! Sit in Daddy's car and "drive". "I dibe" she says :-) Zach is perfectly content in the back seat still. They are just growing up so fast. Less than a month until my little baby girl is 2! Zach will be 3 and a half tomorrow and I just want to freeze time for a little while. They are becoming such fun people (for the most part) and I look forward to every new venture no matter how trying it may be.

No Longer a Morning Person!

Ava is slowly losing her morning person title! This was her the morning that Nannie was leaving. Her eyes were open but she had no desire to get out of bed!

Pictures from Nannie's Visit

Hunting for Easter eggs with Nannie! Our easter bunny usually leaves goldfish and fruit snacks in the eggs, but Nannie bunny leaves jelly beans so now we are all in trouble!

The kids love to "hide" behind the rocking chairs in their rooms. It's so funny to find them "hiding" and thinking we can't see them!

Relieved in a weird way

I went to urgent care this week with shortness of breath and heart palpitations. When the two started coming together I figured I had better be seen. The shortness of breath is from a pretty severe asthma. I guess it's allergy induced. The heart palpitations weren't so easy to diagnose. I told the dr about my family and their thyroid history. She ordered an ultra sound stat and they found a nodule on my thyroid. I know this means more tests, but it gives me a bit of relief to know that maybe there is a light at the end of this tunnel. All of my symptoms can be related to the thyroid. Mood, weight gain, forgetfulness, heart palpitations etc. That is why I am oddly relieved. Just glad I went to urgent care and a doctor finally listened to me. I just knew that most of it had to be related in some way.

Nannie is leaving us :-(

Nannie will be going back to NH tomorrow morning. We will all be so sad to see her go. We have had a wonderful time hanging out with her! Today we did our tradition of taking the kids shopping and filling them with far too much sugar before she goes :-) We did pictures with Allie on Friday and I really hope one of the pictures she took of the kids and my mom came out because I didn't get any of the three of them.

Ava's boots!

Ava just loves to do things for herself. When she realized today that she could put these boots on all by herself she decided they were her new favorite things! Mom said she had them on for most of the day. She is just too cute! They totally go against our matching rule in the house, but I will give her an A for effort.

Ava's Potty Adventure!

Ava finally gave in to the potty today! Nannie is here visiting for the week and she has been encouraging Ava to sit on the potty. At dinner Ava got this uncomfortable look and Nannie asked if she wanted to go on the potty. To my surprise she actually said YES! For me it is always no. She sat on the potty and did a poo-poo! We all cheered and jumped around! She wasn't so sure about it though. When I asked if she wanted panties and to pee on the potty she said no! Kind of what I expected :-) Tomorrow we have her two year old pictures with Allie and I CAN NOT wait! Her fairy wings and tutu are just the cutest things ever!

Not so happy, but still sitting there!

Did I do that?!
